Quiltsmart Pumpkin Seed Class

Date: Thursday, February 23rd

Time: 6:00pm – 8:00pm

Cost:  $20 for class (includes Quiltsmart interfacing) 

Ingredients:

     1/3 yard of plain, light fabric cut into 12”x 12” blocks (background)

     1/3 yard of medium or dark fabric for the “seeds”

     ¼ yard of coordinating medium or dark fabric for trim

You may purchase a pre-cut kit for $15

In this class you will learn the traditional Pumpkin Seed block using the Quiltsmart method.  We will complete one block start to finish and you may even be able to finish the three-block table runner before you leave.  Bring your sewing machine, your pre-cut kit or your choice of fabrics (please cut your background squares before coming to class), a full bobbin and a spool of clear thread in addition to regular thread, and your scissors.  (Kit and ingredients do not include the back for your table runner.  If you’d like to buy that as well, you’ll need ½ a yard of fabric.)

Quiltsmart has made curved piecing so easy that you will have the confidence to make blocks you’ve been afraid to try before.  There will be examples of even more fun blocks you can make with the Rob-Pete interfacing on display at the class.  The Quilting Cottage will have Quiltsmart’s Rob-Pete interfacing available to purchase by the panel so you can start another Pumpkin Seed project once you learn this fun and easy method.
